You gave him Wings

Those words really reached my inner verge of heart. SEEHERE . Well done, Petronas. It reminded me to those days when i was small little puppy. My parents too always "persuade" us to read, (but in the violence way). During my schooling and childhood, i will spend at least 4 hours daily at library. What a shame, when i was in standard 3-4, i had finished all the books in library. pity me. luckily my beloved uncle whom is also a bookworm. from him, i really got the exposure to the realm of knowledge. both of us always hit our nose in the books, and thanks to him, always brough me so many books to satisfy my yearn and ache of books. i love you, uncle.

i am so gratified and grateful that my parents did force me to read. without them, i can't imagine what will i turn out to be. i don't know how to express my appreciation to both of you, words failed me to say "i love two of you" in a better way. Books really had mold me to become today's me. Thanks God too, for his kindness and unlimited blessing. my parents made me realized that to gain knowledge, i cannot just depend on teachers. they can only convey limited knowledge to me. only by exposing myself to books, i can access any field of knowledge and i can read according to my own pace. during my time, books and tv are the only sources for me to gain knowledge.

physically i can't defeat anyone, so i learn karate, shao-lin and tai chi, to dream that one day i can bend people knees to me. after when the puppy turn to dog, i started to realize that knowledge is the only tool that can conquer people heart and bow their knees to you voluntarily and wilfully. erudition is sine qua non to achievement.

i still remember my birthday presents since i was young. it never change. books, books, and books again. damn, others always have different kind of birthday presents but what i get is always books. $%^&*#. later i started to appreciate when i actually commenced my first reading, F%@!&, beside the pictures, i can hardly comprehend what the heck is the book trying to express. so now some of you should know why i can only comprehend the word's meaning but not knowing the pronounciation of the word.

the time when i heard from the advertisement that "when i make money, i can buy more books to my son", unconciously this moves me to tears. i reminisced at first i was so reluctant and adhorrence to receive books as my presents, and i forgot since when i started to read, but for sure it happened when i was very young. (During the stone age, there was nothing but stone and aged books). I really poignant by the said. I am the son in the advertisement.

i couldn't agree more that parents are the one to ingrain the seed of interes of reading ini children. knowledge is the cornerstone of achievement, and knowledge only come from books and experience. i loathe the parents that put their ball in others court, especially teacher. they just neglect/ignore the duty as a parents and assume the teacher should overtake the duty and act on behalf of them, abhorrent and irresponsible. they don't deserve to be treated as creature in rerum natura, they are just egocentric *&^%$.

by giving him knowledge, you are not only giving him wings, but you let him spread his wings and fly high with eagle view. "you gave him wings", it is the maxim of the day, the dictum of the life, share with all my lucky stars.

Quoted from our blog "physically i can't defeat anyone, so i learn karate, shao-lin and tai chi, to dream that one day i can bend people knees to me. after when the puppy turn to dog, i started to realize that knowledge is the only tool that can conquer people heart and bow their knees to you voluntarily and wilfully. erudition is sine qua non to achievement."

I personally feel that why we always think of how to defeat other people whether is physically or mentally, want other people bow their knees on us? Learning is a never non stop process. To learn and gain more knowledge is our self achivement but not to ask other people bow down their knees nor show off to people. Perhaps talking in proper way is "erudition is one of the way to impress others as well as to expose yourself more towards this world" (My humble opinion). And also at the same time to enable you to explore yourself more every single things in this world even though you may not the expert in them. You can even qualify yourself to exchange idea with different groups of friends too. =)

Every human are born with different talents. Some are born to be a famous athelete, some are born to be famous musician and some are born to be a famous scientist etc. Sometimes we may feel that we are not competitive with other people in certain field, but believe me, look inside yourself and you will always find that you are actually expert in something. Be more confidence to ourselves. We are not born to be stupid. Nobody is stupid.

As for myself, I am talented in drawing, music (during primary nd secondary school)and debating with other people. I love to read too. When i was in secondary school Form 4, I almost finished reading all the story books in my school library (just like you little bit :P). But this doesn't mean that I am very knowledgable. A knowledgable person doesn't measured by how much that person have read, but is how much he/she is actually have learnt from his/her reading and other people's experience. Sometimes, we just read without really ponder what are the values behind those stories. But most time we feel that we have knew a lot coz we read a lot already.

Competitive is always a good way to improving ourselves from time to time. But not because we want to defeat other people. We should always compete in our ability. I saw many cases where some of the people where they actually don't have that kind of ability, but juz bcoz of faces and their ego, they force themselves to go beyond their ability. For instance, buying big car and big house. But how many of us actually know how much money they have owed to bank and how much installment per month they struggling need to pay? I have a friend buy a half a million house. But every month, to pay her house and her car installment, she and her husband have to save a lot and no savings for themselves every month (salary in, salary totally spent out). What is the meaning of life? Just bcoz you want all your friends to be defeated and bow down on your GREAT CAPABILITY to buy such expensive house, u struggling yourself. What for?

Life is an enjoying process, depending on how we live it. While try to achieving success in our lives, we enjoy the whole process too. Result maybe is very important, but the whole process how did you achieve towards that goal is more valuable experience in our life. Enjoy all the flowers and beautiful scenery while you are on the way towards the destination. They are always beautiful. I sincerely hope that you able to achieve whatever you dream for in your life. But during that process, remember to enjoy the happiness and sweetness of that path too =)

    Cheers!

darling, you misconstrued my words...."conquer people heart and bow their knees to you voluntarily and willfully" doesn't mean show off or what so ever. kindly do not interpret the words literally. my wording always having a hidden agenda. take a deep discernment. :)

Forgive me if I have misunderstood you. But I guess my comment not only focusing on your statement how to let other people bow their knees on your voluntarily. =)
